Made in close cooperation with the Vatican, this movie tells the story of Karol Wojtyla, the man who became one of the most important figures in the 20th century, and now called John Paul the Great by many who admired him. From his childhood in Poland through the Nazi occupation of his homeland and to the suprising elevation to the Papacy, Pope John Paul II shows the courage, sanctity, intelligence, and humor of the great man. Joining us for this one-of-a-kind event are Oscar-winning actor Jon Voight, British actor Cary Elwes, director John Kent Harrison, and Ignatius Press publisher Fr. Joseph Fessio, S.J. Mr. Voight earned an Emmy nomination for his powerful performance as John Paul II, and Mr. Elwes was lauded for his portrayal of Karol Wojtyla. These men will share their insights on the late Pope, and Mr. Voight and Mr. Elwes will be signing DVDs after the showing. Tickets will go fast.
